Every day, our Safety Ambassadors and Clean Team gather extensive data to ensure a safer environment for all. This dashboard serves as a comprehensive resource for the latest statistics related to our district.

The Community Safety Dashboard is a vital tool for a wide range of users, including: businesses, journalists, community leaders and policymakers. It is for anyone interested in learning more about the community safety trends affecting our community.

What insights are included in the dashboard?

The Downtown Van Community Safety Dashboard offers a user-friendly overview of essential information collected by our Safety Ambassadors and Clean Team, including:

  • Incident Response: Downtown Safety Ambassadors responding to member business calls for service.
  • Non-Emergency Calls: Calls placed to non-emergency by Downtown Safety Ambassadors
  • 911 Calls: Calls placed to 911 by Downtown Safety Ambassadors
  • Parkade Patrol: Checks to report and/or report illegal activity in parking lots.
  • Theft From Auto: Downtown Safety Ambassador reports of insecure vehicles
  • Meet & Greets: Proactive check-ins with member businesses regarding safety concerns
  • Welfare Checks: Number of instances Ambassadors assess whether an individual needs immediate medical attention
  • Blocks Cleaned: Micro-cleaning services performed on street blocks
  • Bags: Bags filled with garbage/recycling
  • Graffiti Removed: Individual tags removed
  • Sharps: Needles collected and safely discarded
