All commercial street-level businesses within Downtown Van’s 90-block catchment could access the $30,000 fund and use it to enhance the outward appearance of their business.
The businesses could use this fund to implement or upgrade their permanent or temporary patio by adding landscaping elements such as hanging baskets and planters, refreshing external finishes, repainting façades, replacing, or repairing storefront windows, doors, and signs, or upgrading window displays by installing new window wraps, and or lighting.
The fund was well received by the membership and all the resources were allocated within the first three weeks of the official launch.
Downtown Van funded 17 food and beverage, retail, beauty, and wellness businesses. Each company received a maximum of $2,000.
