AGM Notice
Notice is hereby given that the 35th Annual General Meeting of Downtown Van (Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association) will be held at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Sutton Place Hotel for the following purposes:
- Review Downtown Van’s activities for the past year
- Receive and approve the Auditor’s Report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024
- Appoint an auditor for the coming year
- Review and adopt the proposed 2025-2026 budget
- Elect nine Directors
- Transact such further and other business that may properly come before the meeting and any adjournments thereof.
During the AGM, the Association will elect nine (9) directors to the Board; three (3) directors are to be elected who are commercial property owners, and six (6) directors are to be elected who are business tenants. The Association invites written nominations for directors from voting members. Nomination and membership application forms are available by contacting the Association at the office address below.
Please submit nominations no later than August 7, 2024, to: Secretary-Treasurer, Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, Suite 1380-1100 Melville, Vancouver, V6E 4A6.

What is the Annual General Meeting?
The AGM is where our members and their assigned voters can gather to vote on motions to allow for the continuation of the Downtown Van organization.
Who is allowed to vote?
Voters are the main contact for each organization. Unsure if you’re the voter? Please sign into the member portal under “log in” on the right-hand side of our website, or email Tyshaya Smith (tyshaya@dtvan.ca).
I can’t attend, can I still vote?
If you are unable to attend, we kindly ask that you assign a Proxy Holder for your organization – this is one person you will assign your voting right to who will attend the AGM on behalf of your organization. Downtown Van can also assign a proxy voter on your behalf. If you’d like Downtown Van to assign one for you, please leave the proxy name blank on the second line of the proxy form.
