THANK YOU FOR JOINING US AT DOWNTOWN VAN’S ANNUAL COMMUNITY SAFETY FORUM!

On October 3rd, we welcomed an engaged audience to the Grand Ballroom at Paradox Hotel for a morning filled with insightful discussions and meaningful dialogue around community safety. Our panel of experts from Portland shared valuable perspectives on decriminalization, crime, and social issues, highlighting successful solutions implemented in their city and the lessons learned along the way. We were honoured to have Hank Smith from the Office of the Mayor, Steve Wytcherley from Portland Clean & Safe, Skyler Brocker-Knapp from the City of Portland, and Sergeant Jerry Cioeta from the Portland Police Bureau at our panel, all expertly moderated by Justin P. Goodrich, LL.M.

The event included an amazing breakfast buffet for our member attendees, prepared by the Paradox Hotel, in addition to networking with fellow members in our district, a presentation by the experts on Community Safety from Portland, and a Q&A panel. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in the interactive Q&A session, diving deeper into the pressing issues our communities face. The networking session that followed provided a platform for participants to connect and share ideas, fostering collaboration toward a safer downtown.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors: Cadillac Fairview, Kim Ficocelli, RPA, Destination Vancouver, Royce Chwin, BGO, David Roche, and Goodbye Graffiti ™, as their support made this event possible.

Thank you once again to all our members who attended our event, for their engagement, meaningful questions that furthered the conversation, and commitment to improving community safety. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and working together for a brighter future in our district for everyone!
